I reviewed this article for WP:URFA/2020 and a possible TFA run on Oct. 12, the town's anniversary. However, I am concerned that this article does not meet the featured article criteria anymore. My concerns are:
The History section does not mention events after 2004,
The Geography section has some uncited statements,
The Demographics section hasn't been updated with the 2020 census information,
The Government section mostly gives information about 2014, and needs to be updated
I don't usually work on articles about places (usually historic buildings and other architecture) but I can try to help when I'm done with my current projects. APKwhisper in my ear03:30, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@APK: In the government section, there's a lot of information about the make-up of the Town Council in 2010 which can be summarised or deleted. Instead, the section should focus on the governance structure of the town, how the make-up of its town council is decided upon, maybe describing how many mayors the town has had since its inception, and the current composition of the council (who the mayor is, significant councillors).
The Economy section has statistics from 2000 which should be updated. Some later statistics do not state what time period they are from, and that should be included (with the most recent available data used).
The Demographics section has the 2020 numbers in the first paragraph, but the 2010 numbers in the last. The 2010 numbers should be replaced. Z1720 (talk) 15:55, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Z1720: I can't find a source for the number of past mayors, but I updated with other info on the town government, as well as the economy and demographics sections. I removed some material about ancestry because I can't find anything about it in 2020 census data.APKwhisper in my ear05:31, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@APK: The article looks a lot better. @Nikkimaria: as they have more experience writing city articles, and can point out missing information more effectively than me. Some sentences that need citations are outlined below:
"The combination of heat and humidity in the summer brings very frequent thunderstorms, some of which occasionally produce tornadoes in the area. While hurricanes (or their remnants) occasionally track through the area in late summer and early fall, they have often weakened by the time they reach Stephens City, partly due to the city's far inland location."
"Other smaller private or Christian-based schools are located throughout Frederick County and elsewhere in the area."
Other things that could be considered for inclusion: who was the Stephens family; what is the local topography; how demographics and income levels compare across the state/region; stats on immigration; largest employers; GDP and economic trends; local arts, theatre, music, sports; local media; crime stats; infrastructure such as medical facilities or utilities. Taking a look through the article again, my concerns have been addressed, and most of the information that Nikkimaria suggested above has been incorporated into the article. I am no longer concerned that this article meets the FA criteria. Z1720 (talk) 21:41, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
