Religion

[edit]

User:Omnis Scientia - there are many cats indicating he is Jewish -- but that is not reflected at all anywhere in the text of the article (which is required for the cats). 2603:7000:2101:AA00:3DC5:789A:CB50:868 (talk) 06:06, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've never heard about such a requirement and I would have if it was since I'm active on the Categories Project.
Greenberg's Jewishness comes from the fact that his father and mother are both Jewish. Its implied just through that. He is a secular Jew otherwise and doesn't talk about it much which is his right. Omnis Scientia (talk) 09:06, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Amateur World Series

[edit]

@Captain Parmenter:, can you give a reference for the Amateur World Series you added? Sounds quite interesting and I'd like to incorporate that into the article. Thanks! Omnis Scientia (talk) 09:25, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I initially found the connection through Baseball Reference. There's not much else online but his participation is briefly mentioned in this edition of the Yale Daily News from September 15, 1969 (shortly after the tournament ended). Also mentioned here (with the correct spelling) in the edition from the 17th. Unfortunately there's not much English-language coverage of the Amateur World Series before the 70s/80s but there may be more info in the Yale paper if you keep digging. Thank you! I will get into it and see what I can find. :) Omnis Scientia (talk) 17:33, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
