[edit]This brings back many memories, I started with Sohio, Oct 4, 1971 in Cincinnati, Ohio 930 Tennessee Ave. Heat oil #2 was 17.9c/gal while Kerosene was 18.9c/gal

Back in 1991, when going to Cedar Point, I had noticed "What happened to all the Sohio stations?", noticing that they all converted to the gold and green BP stations. I noticed the same with a couple of Boron stations in Michigan. Other Boron stations switched to other brands like Marathon.
I remember going to Florida with my high school band, and one of my classmates said "What is So-hee-oh" as we were going through Ohio, and I told him the correct pronounciation, and that that's (was) the most prominent brand of gasoline in Ohio, along with Marathon.

Corporate Name
[edit]The actual name of Standard Oil as it operated in Ohio was The Standard Oil Company (Ohio), with the article "The" in italic script. Whenever the company name was spoken, it was always as "The Standard Oil Company", with an emphasis on the article "the". The company was never referred to as Standard Oil of Ohio.
