This wiki on "stamped concrete" is very poorly written. Thegodspeeder (talk) 19:50, 24 September 2009 (UTC)
Vandalism?
[edit]A large part of this article is a cut-and-paste from the website of a stamped concrete industry association. The plagiarized portion left on a sentence and a fragment of another. I inserted the missing material so the article would fairly present the plagiarism, word for word. For that I was accused of vandalism. LOL 76.14.128.97 (talk) 00:32, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I Agree With the Person Who Wrote the Vandalism Section
[edit]I agree with the person who wrote the section entitled "Vandalism?" However, I think either he is or I am a sock puppet. No, I just forgot to log in. I am new at this logging in part. However, my experience is whether you vandalize or remove and reinsert material that is properly cited, the "owner" of the article will revert it anyway. Da5id403 (talk) 00:40, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
World of Concrete?
[edit]What is "World of Concrete"? Being capitalized it appears to be a proper noun. Gjxj (talk) 01:36, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
Oh i see. It seems to be a sort of trade show or something. This whole article really needs clean up and citations. Gjxj (talk) 01:40, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
Expanded historical context – Techniques section still needs major work
[edit]I did a few things here:
- Clarified that stamped concrete is NOT just a modern technique, but that the term has come to refer more specifically to a specialized modern technique.
- Added historical context and details about the evolution of stamping techniques to make this clear
- Added some great pictures showing the evolution of different types of concrete stamping throughout history, and also shifted the existing top image, replacing it with one that has dimensions better suited for that particular position.
I think more information on the most basic stamping techniques used by the ancient Romans would be good to add, but I haven't had a chance to dig deeper into sources.
I have only done minor word choice edits on the techniques section. That section still lacks citations and needs to be improved.
This article is starting to get there... It's a fascinating topic. Definitely an article worth working on!LRFtheLion (talk) 17:40, 6 May 2022 (UTC)
Link within this article to Urethane disambiguation page
[edit]A kindly bot just let me know that my internal link for the word "Urethane" that I included in edits made to this article takes users to a disambiguation page. I have to confess that I'm not confident on which of the Urethane pages it would need to link to, so I'm leaving it as is, but if anyone knows which type of Urethane the cited source means in the context of stamped concrete, this is a fix that could be made. Thank you! LRFtheLion (talk) 07:06, 7 May 2022 (UTC)
