facts wrong
[edit]The article's claim that he died in Salisbury's official residence was wrong. It was Northcote's official residence, not Salisbury's. 10 Downing Street, contrary to myth, is not the residence of the Prime Minister but First Lord of the Treasury. Normally both roles are held by the same person, hence the confusion. Salisbury, unusually, chose to give the First Lord of the Treasury post to Northcote, meaning that 10 Downing Street was Northcote's residence, not Salisbury's. 213.94.210.30 (talk) 13:48, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
- You're mixing up governments. It's true Northcode was First Lord and Salisbury Foreign Secretary in the first government but they took the reverse positions in the second until Northcote's death. Timrollpickering (talk) 18:35, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
