I'll take a look at this, will post review as soon as possible. Kosack (talk) 15:03, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
Initial review
Lead
[edit]- I think its standard for former to come after nationality. His a footballer not a former English footballer if you see what I mean. I would say professional could be included as well, he played at a fully professional level during his career.
- Link Ebbsfleet United in the first paragraph.
- He ended his playing career playing for Leatherhead, slight repetition with playing there. "Ended his playing career with Leatherhead" maybe?
- Long has represented England, as he is now retired should the has be dropped?
Early career
[edit]- made 23 appearances for Notts County during the 2005–06 season as Notts county, bit of repetition with the club name here. Drop the second mention for the club or team or some similar.
- Substitute is linked in the third paragraph but is used in the previous paragraph. Move the link to the first use.
- and earned a contract extension for a further year, source for this?
- including successive braces against Grays Athletic and Weymouth respectively, I might be wrong here but is respectively necessary if successive is already used previously?
Stevenage
[edit]- Charlton repeat linked in the second paragraph.
References
[edit]- Ref 3 appears to be broken. In fact, most of the Soccerbase refs seem to be.
- Refs 2 and 34 aren't working for me, both return a timeout problem. Are the sites working for you?
- Statto seems to be permanently down these days so ref 45 needs rescuing or replacing.
- In ref 74, what makes Flick to Kick a reliable source? The site itself appears to be a blog and actually states that it uses Wikipedia as a source.
A polished article as usual, very few remarks to make. A couple of refs seem to have moved or expired so may need sorting. Placed on hold for now. Kosack (talk) 19:06, 1 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for taking the time out to review the article @Kosack: I've made all of the changes you've mentioned. I couldn't find a replacement source for the England C match so have removed the line altogether for now with a view to re-adding if I can find something on it. I have also replaced all the Soccerbase links with working ones. Let me know if there's anything else. Cheers. SBFCEdit (talk) 00:07, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
Happy to pass this. Well written and referenced, no copyvio concerns and is a detailed overview of the player's career. Nice work. Kosack (talk) 06:09, 2 May 2019 (UTC)
