The church was dedicated to St Mary Magdalene and St Michael according to someone who tends the church. It's not clear when the names were reversed but it may have been as recently as the nineteenth century, in which case the suspicion must be that the change reflects a Victorian sense of propriety (Magdalene being somewhat risque).
