Alleged Little Saint Hugh of Lincoln association

[edit]

Is it possible to find some citation for the relationship between St Hugh's School, Woodhall Spa and Little Saint Hugh of Lincoln? There are other St Hugh's, and this is a very controversial association to make. I can see that the 'wall and ball' logo might well relate to this, but nevertheless it is very peculiar and personally I would like to know of some firm documentation, early documents from the school's founders or founding for instance. I had added the citation needed tag. I did look on-line some years back and did not find a Reliable Source but it seemed plausible when the design of the badge is considered.
I can't see anything on the school's website but then it does claim "The school is the oldest independent school in the county" so I wouldn't count it a RS in any case. Nedrutland (talk) 14:05, 11 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I've ordered a copy of Half a Century of St Hugh's School, Woodhall Spa which I am hoping may shed some light on this. Jim Killock (talk) 12:47, 15 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Nedrutland and User:Davidbrookesland: the book confirms the story, it seems. I have added a reference and corrected the text to align with the source more closely. Jim Killock (talk) 18:38, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@JimKillock and Davidbrookesland:I notice that the badge on the school website now omits the ball but I have not yet found a source for the change. --Nedrutland (talk) 07:34, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I’m not sure what you mean; you cited the Jewish Chronicle as source for the intention to change the logo? If the logo has changed on the website, isn’t that enough? It’s great to see this picked up btw; although personally retaining half the logo seems literally “half hearted”. Jim Killock (talk) 08:43, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Jim; I have now edited the Page with regard to the logo. Nedrutland (talk) 10:02, 25 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
