Sales

[edit]

If you're going to change the album sales to some outragious numbers you might want to delete the link to the sites that disprove whatever you added. :) shakilover 01:00, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

Solo Spice info

[edit]

Given that this is a Spice Girls discography, do members think its appropriate to include solo spice girls information on this page?

Given the fact that all the girls have their own seperate pages I dont see any reason why their information should be included on this page.

Opinions? Rimmers 04.56, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Blah, blah, blah, Oh yeah it is appropriate for your information Rimmers, they are from Spice Girls and the article isn't very long it looks great IMO. How about you look at the Destiny's Child discography the solo stuffs of the 3 girls is included.--hottie 13:00, 12 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
See, if you werent so arrogant and rude I might take notice of what you say - but given your attitude, it just makes it so much easier to ignore you! Im not bothered about whats in Destiny's Child discography...im bothered whats in this discography. Rimmers 15.46, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
It's funny that you didn't still notice who I am, Rimmers from Den Den. I thought I was so nice on that post oh sorry if I offended you. The solo Spice infos looks great the way it is of course because I maintain it to be on that way--hottie 13:58, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I've seen this debate in this page and the SG page...and to be honest, I'd prefer the solo material to be moved elsewhere; this page is too cluttered otherwise. As for the DC discography page, the same debate is starting over there as well. I commented over there as well, and my point applies here too: since both groups have broken up (in the Spice Girls' case, unofficially...technically...), the solo material will just keep coming. That doesn't mean that all that material has to be deleted; it can just simply be moved. (Please do not think I am making personal judgments; I don't know either of you, and I'm not taking "sides". I'm just stating my viewpoint, based on what I've seen on wiki. For example, the BSB discography page does not list the solo albums, even though there aren't that many. In addition, Mariah Carey's singles page does not list the b-sides. Are there any others (other than these two) who can say something on this? SKS2K6 04:29, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

For your information I'm the one who created the Backstreet Boys discography, since Nick Carter has only one that a solo career I decided that not to put it. Don't compare this to other discography, Mariah released a lot of singles unlike the Spice Girls. Since all five girls are from the Spice Girls I don't see anything bad to put them in the Spice Girls discography--LooseTheHotButtonS 13:59, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That's the thing. Since there are significantly more solo albums and singles of the Spice Girls than of the Backstreet Boys, that would cause more clutter and mess. If you don't include even one album, should the Spice Girls discography page have every single and album available?
I couldn't agree more. I love the discography--LooseTheHotButtonS 13:43, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And must you hide your nickname behind alternate links? SKS2K6 13:56, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sales Figure for Headlines

[edit]

I see a sales figure has been added under certifications for headlines (friendship never ends). Technically this is not a certification and it is already mentioned on the single's own page. Though given the single's short chart life (it has been completely out of the the top 100 in the UK for at least 2 weeks and is supposed to have only sold 10k in its release week) these figures seem inflated. I have seen this same exact figure inserted on related pages, each time without a reference. Could someone add one or should we just remove? (all the other singles certifications are referenced) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Spicefunk (talkcontribs) 23:23, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Philippines

[edit]

Can someone remove the chart "figures" from the Philippines? That country has no official charts. --Howard the Duck 13:36, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In the last revision I edited, I found duplicate named references, i.e. references sharing the same name, but not having the same content. Please check them, as I am not able to fix them automatically :)

Single sales

[edit]

The sales listed here for singles is for the UK. Look at the reference - that top 100 is for sales in the UK only. So your total sales at 55 million is actually too low. --Tuzapicabit (talk) 20:43, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mister Sparky, Coolcoolmen16

[edit]

That little revert war puts you both in violation of WP:3RR. Please move debate under this header. You're both good contributors and it would be a shame if either of you were punished over something so petty. -- EA Swyer Talk Contributions 10:59, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i kept reverting the edits because he is insistent on making the text of the tables really small and hard to read. the reasoning behind it was that it was how it was on other featured lists. the only reason other articles were like it was because he changed them to it. Mister sparky (talk) 17:07, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Countries listed

[edit]

I see that the article have improved a lot in the last weeks, and now I think we must reach a consensus as to which countries should be listed in the tables, according to MOS:DISCOG there should be only 10 charts if we want the article to become a featured article. I would say that we should include well obviously the United Kingdom, Ireland, United States, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden and I would say the Euro Hot 100 but we don't have the references, and well since this is the English wikipedia I think Canada should be included, but apparently there are other countries where the girls have been more successful like Finland, Norway or Switzerland. So please put your thoughts on this so we don't have to fight over this and stay focus on develop the article. Regards. Frcm1988 (talk) 04:20, 8 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Spice Girls Canadian charts

[edit]

I noticed that the Spice Girls positions on the Canadian charts were not featured in the singles column, so I decided to add them in. I'm aware of the 10 column maximum, but the Spice Girls have charted significantly well in Canada, so I feel they deserve to be featured.

If CAN is to be added pls gain consensus on which column should be removed. How does their chart stats in CAN compare to success in other counties? - eo (talk) 21:06, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Spice Girls Chart stats in Canada compare to the success in other countries because the Spice Girls were equally as successful on Canadian charts as they were on other charts. I feel their success in Canada should not be ignored or underappreciated by not being featured on this article.

Inflated sales by fans.

[edit]

Even their official website claimed the the first two album sold 23kk and 14kk respectivelly [1]. The Spiceworld album was seen as a failure at the time and never was a big catalog seller, like it predecessor. I don't think that those inflated sales should stay here, those numbers are the more accurate according to their certications. Here a good analysis of the album worldwide [2].--88marcus (talk) 03:43, 18 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
