Can anyone else confirm ever having heard a piece of spam musubi called a "pocket rocket"? --IslandGyrl 08:35, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious if this should be a subtopic on the musubi page? I won't change it, but they are related. In all my spam musubi eating (which is considerable), I can't say I've heard of a pocket rocket. Superclear 07:11, 11 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should stay where it is, but I'm removing the "pocket rocket" thing until someone can document its ever being called that. --Mitchell k dwyer 01:31, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is this really a stub? I guess you could go more into the history of it, but in general it doesn't really seem like there's much more to say. KarlM 01:37, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You would be surprised. There's a lot of content here. —Viriditas | Talk 08:33, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"A Spam musubi is composed of a block of salted (not vinegared; that would be sushi) rice with a slice of Spam (cooked or uncooked)"

question: does anyone really eat uncooked musubi? can we just get rid of whats in the parenthesis all together? Coojah (talk) 19:42, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

there's really no such thing as uncooked Spam, so you have a point. I'm sure the original writer meant that the Spam is sometimes cooked again and sometimes not given extra preparation at all before being used on the musubi. Perhaps it could be reworded. I really think that Spam Musubi is a kind of Onigiri. (Most of the stuff is rice, with Salt on the surface, etc etc) What do you guys think? Should it be mentioned in the article? TheAsianGURU (talk) 20:40, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(o)musubi and (o)nigiri are the same thing, though you might argue that musubi have to have seaweed or something tying it together. In any case, the word onigiri is mentioned in the article :) Wakablogger2 (talk) 22:29, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

nori wrap vs. limu wrap?

[edit]

When and why did everyone start using nori to wrap spam musubi? What happened to the green limu kine?

Personally I really don't care too much of the new kind wrapped in nori, but the limu version was great (though it sure did make you thirsty!). Also, the best kind would have the spam in the middle of the rice, not just on one side (but that's a minor issue). Gecko G (talk) 02:19, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

'See also' reference to Loco Moco--Questionable Explanation

[edit]

As of 10/2017, there is a 'See also' link to Loco Moco with the reasoning, "another Hawaiian dish that can involve rice and Spam." Spam is neither the canonical Loco Moco meat nor accompaniment, so perhaps a better explanation is in order of the form, "another popular modern Hawaiian meat-and-rice dish." Thoughts? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.38.93.99 (talk) 19:38, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Needless advertisement and improper tone

[edit]

The article contains needless advertisement for Alan Wong and his restraunts and diverts from proper tone and relevance to include it. 2600:1700:17C1:8CD0:5FA6:5DBD:7581:5933 (talk) 20:48, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, removed. Just to note, you can also make edits like this to the article. :-) -- Michael Scott Asato Cuthbert (talk) 22:41, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
