Page Name

[edit]

The content of this page, while valuable, is not really about process but a lot more about history. I do think that there is a lot to say about the design process, but none of that seems to be on this page. Should this page be renamed? e.g. to "SpaceX Starship design history"? Would make more sense considering what this article has, but I doubt thats what the creator wants Fehér Zsigmond-03 (talk) 08:45, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

There is some major copyright violations found using [1]. The entire "Mars Colonial Transporter" section is almost copy and pasted. Additionally, most of the "Interplanetary Transport System" section is plagiarized. Those sections need a re-write. Grahaml35 (talk) 17:43, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'll start rewriting those sections. Redacted II (talk) 13:29, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You can if you want to but keep in mind that this is an instance of WP:CIRCULAR. CodemWiki (talk) 09:34, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent point.
Still, the sections should be rewritten, if not because they are copyright violations, but because the writing is VERY poor. Redacted II (talk) 12:22, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The content of this page has existed for years on the late page SpaceX Starship development, then SpaceX Starship, then SpaceX ambition of colonizing Mars then this page. Giving plenty of time to copy and monetize the content of the page on other websites, which the tools you are using are detecting, but you interprete as a copyright violation from Wikipedia.
This is an instance of WP:CIRCULAR as well as the kind of casual incompetence that gets wiki content deleted for no reason. Even more so since I had specified on the talk page that this page was a fork from an older article. CodemWiki (talk) 09:43, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

More info needed on Falcon X, Falcon X Heavy and Falcon XX

[edit]

Here's the old content of these pages. They were originally merged into the SpaceX page but it got purged from that article. I suggest some of this be resurrected for this page.

A whole ton of details here in the old SpaceX page:

And some more in the old pages before they were deleted:

As well as some in the current Merlin page:

Versions

[edit]

The company introduced v2 and v3 recently, just pointing out the article needs updating to reflect this 73.210.30.217 (talk) 04:48, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't include that until v2 flies, at which point a descript of the changes v1 experienced over time could be included.
But if you want to describe v2 or v3 on this article, feel free to add a descript. Just be aware that v2 and v3 have been described on the "main" article. Redacted II (talk) 14:35, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Abandoned?

[edit]

Is this an abandoned project? Seems like there hasn't been any news for a few years and they failed their claim of starting Mars colonization in 2022. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.70.48.205 (talkcontribs) 21:24, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Have you not been seeing the news? On the day you posted this, it should have been all over the news, as Starship flight test 4 launched and returned from space on 6 June 2024. -- 64.229.88.34 (talk) 00:11, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This article covers early design changes of Starship. Redacted II (talk) 18:54, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
