Lights

[edit]

So, it looks as if the upgrading of the light at Southwold will happen between the end of October 2012 and approx 2012-12-01. I've reverted the light ratings to respect that - the source being a TH notice to mariners. Blue Square Thing (talk) 19:34, 29 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Southwold Millenium Foundation

[edit]

Does this body, which has mis-spelled Millennium in its own name, still exist? I have been unable to find any reference that doesn't seem to hark back to this Wikipedia article. The telephone number given is that of the Town Clerk of Southwold Town Council. Jamjarface (talk) 22:39, 14 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Good question. They do seem to be elusive on the web, although the spelling was from the TH leaflet - it's spelt right on the TH website so that's probably partly my spelling mistake! I'll go and take a look at the light over the next couple of weeks and see if the tourist info centre in town is open as well and see if I can find anything helpful. The name could always be lost if there's any major doubt. Blue Square Thing (talk) 09:56, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Having said that, minutes of the Town council from July have them receiving a report from the Foundation, so I reckon it exists but doesn't have a web page. Blue Square Thing (talk) 10:03, 15 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Red sector lights?

[edit]

Anyone happen to know if the red sectors are still in operation after the light update in December 2012? Reference to them seems to have gone from the TH page so I wonder if they're still there or not. Blue Square Thing (talk) 18:38, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I think I've just answered my own question with reference to a source from Pelangi which carried out the refit. If anyone with more technical knowledge can confirm it would be useful I think. Ta. Blue Square Thing (talk) 18:51, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
