Merge
[edit]The regions Southeast Asian Massif and Zomia (region) greatly overlap and are conceptually similar, perhaps reflecting different names for a similar idea. Given the similarity, I suggest that they should be merge to the older term, which also happens to be more comprehensible in English. Klbrain (talk) 22:33, 6 April 2018 (UTC)
- Support merge. Just need someone to carry it out. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:51, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Khumpita: I note that you've removed the merge template from one of the page (Zomia (region)), without discussing it here first. I don't feel strongly about this proposal, but it's good form to discuss it here, particularly when the re are two arguments in support and no opposition. You're argument in the edit note is "I think that the term Zomia should remain even if to merge the two article becuase it is native to the region and also represents the region". I can't quite see how this is a reason for opposing the merge. Links and searches for Zomia (region) will still work, redirect to Southeast Asian Massif where the Zomia will also be discussion. The merge will avoid unnecessary duplication. Klbrain (talk) 09:54, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
- Given no objections here, Merger complete. Klbrain (talk) 07:58, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- just FYI, this merge is going to alarm quite a few people (most like me are probably not very familiar with Wikipedia merging practices, or continuous editing, etc... clearly I need to educate myself!). The 'Zomia' term is now quite an important concept in academic research, and I suspect a dedicated page will need to be recreated. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mheneise (talk • contribs) 09:09, 30 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hopefully a dedicated section will suffice for now, in the context of the broader regional page. If it grows large enough is can always be SPLIT. Klbrain (talk) 12:36, 30 August 2019 (UTC)

Willem van Schendel
[edit]The link to Willem van Schendel points to a jurist, not a historian. Could it be a different person with the same name? Rodeng (talk) 12:30, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Adjusted the link. --Paul_012 (talk) 16:10, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
