B class review
[edit]When I saw the reference to Admiral Gibbs, I believed it was supposed to be Grieg. But since Grieg died in 1788, it had to be a different person. I googled "Russian Admiral Gibbs" and the only hit was a "Vice-Admiral Samuel Gibbs" in an essay titled "Prostitution of the Russian Flag: Privateers in Russian Admiralty Courts, 1787-1798" by Julia Leikin. (https://www.jstor.org/stable/26564556) So, his first name was added to the text. Djmaschek (talk) 02:32, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- B class. Good work. However, in the introduction, the last part of this sentence does not summarize what it says in the narrative (in my opinion). "The Souliotes achieved a defensive victory but failed to foment a big Christian insurrection as originally planned." It seems to me that it was the Russians who wanted an insurrection and they hoped to use the Souliotes for this purpose. I would suggest something like this: "The Souliotes achieved a defensive victory but their actions did not foment a Christian insurrection as the Russians had hoped."
- @Catlemur: Thanks for updating the introduction. Djmaschek (talk) 04:57, 16 March 2023 (UTC)
