The article claims that Michael Jackson holds the record for most Soul Train Music Awards, with 20. However, I can't account for that many from the articles about the awards for the respective years:

1989 Soul Train Music Awards: 2 competitive awards, plus 2 special awards, plus 1 other nomination.

1992 Soul Train Music Awards: No awards from 2 nominations.

No, he didn't win anything in 2011, probably because he had been dead for two years and thus was no longer active.
