Renaming This Article
[edit]I created a Soul serenade article and someone redirected it to King Curtis. --MarcusPearl95 (talk) 01:06, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: not moved; can revisit if another article is created (the song, the Gloria Lynn album, or other). -- JHunterJ (talk) 14:27, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
Soul Serenade → Soul Serenade (album) – Perhaps this article should be renamed in order to create an article for the King Curtis song. --MarcusPearl95 (talk) 21:55, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
- I've substed the template and added a proposed name so that the RM bot understands the request. If you want to propose a different title, simply change the link above. Jafeluv (talk) 03:03, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- Comment: I don't think we should disambiguate this article pre-emptively. Anyone can create an article for the King Curtis song at Soul Serenade (song) and add a hatnote to this article. As long as there's only one page on Wikipedia with this title, there's no need to add a disambiguator here. Jafeluv (talk) 03:03, 20 May 2012 (UTC)
- Hey, I'm going to create Soul Serenade (disambiguation) right now. As for the requested name, it must be redirected to the dab page, as there is the Gloria Lynne album. --George Ho (talk) 00:03, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- Neutral for now. I was going to vote "speedy close", but I realized that the song came earlier, and the band has rendered the old song. Like Big Day, this topic is obscure but the only article with the same name. --George Ho (talk) 00:14, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- By the way, oppose renaming to Soul Serenade (album). How about Soul Serenade (The Derek Trucks Band album) instead? --George Ho (talk) 00:15, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- That would make sense if there was another album article on Wikipedia with the same name. Currently there isn't, though. Jafeluv (talk) 06:48, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- Soul Serenade (Gloria Lynne album) is now redirected to Gloria Lynne. --George Ho (talk) 07:07, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- That would make sense if there was another album article on Wikipedia with the same name. Currently there isn't, though. Jafeluv (talk) 06:48, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- By the way, oppose renaming to Soul Serenade (album). How about Soul Serenade (The Derek Trucks Band album) instead? --George Ho (talk) 00:15, 23 May 2012 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Just to add that there was a record in the late 60's, on the MGM UK label of "Soul Serenade" by the Mike Cotton Sound. It was the introduction music to the Sunday night Soul programme by BBC JJ Mike Raven. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BoyfromSE16 (talk • contribs) 11:03, 25 January 2017 (UTC)
