Title of this album

[edit]

Is the title Songs or Song (singular) of Innocence ? The artwork on the album cover says Song of Innocence it seems. Also consider this review which is pointed at by the article. [1]. Admittedly, it was inspired by Blake's Songs of Innocence. And one song in the album is titled "Song of Innocence". Perhaps the 1968 release was "Song of Innocence" and later re-released as "Songs of Innocence" ? See this link and new artwork for a later re-release in the 1970's where it seems to be "Songs of Innocence". [2]. But the 1968 original album seems to have been "Song of Innocence" ! Thanks. --- (Bob) Wikiklrsc 17:56, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why isn't this article written in BrEng? Jazzerino (talk) 19:47, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Because the album was recorded in America by American musicians. Are you looking for Songs of Innocence and of Experience? Ghmyrtle (talk) 20:08, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
That's the one. Thanks. Jazzerino (talk) 20:29, 6 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 24 October 2014

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: procedural close--the undiscussed move has now been reverted per Wikipedia:Requested moves#Requests to revert undiscussed moves, and if a discussion about this featured article is warranted it can occur from the stable title. The move discussion archived below had also been listed under a redirect, likely making it impossible for most editors to reach. Dekimasuよ! 23:16, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Song of Innocence (album)Song of Innocence – Moved without discussion by Werldwayd, warrants discussion first – Dan56 (talk) 22:18, 24 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 05:21, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In ictu oculi, a) there's no single by David Axelrod called "Song of Innocence", and b) (more importantly) there's no article on it even if there was such a single. Dan56 (talk) 06:43, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - ["Song of innocence is a"] in Google Books produces a hit on Terry Scott Taylor's song from album Knowledge and Innocence, 1986, "A Song of Innocence" a Ralph Ellison story. But more to the point there are frequent capitalised references to individual Blake Songs of Innocence collection, which is the primary subject. Blake is a colossus of world culture, this album is a passing piece of derived art. Hence our titling should be recognisable, it's an album, call it an album. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:18, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Why didn't you bring that up to begin with (as your reason for opposing) instead of what you originally wrote? Dan56 (talk) 08:03, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You said that there was "a single by the same artist" here to contest my "‎Request to revert an undiscussed move" (which this was) and then above here. Why? Dan56 (talk) 18:55, 25 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

NoraJune (talk) 00:58, 7 January 2015 (UTC) Hi. I'm brand new to editing wikipedia and I was looking at this article as an example since it's featured. I noted that there is actually one little error. The first link to David Axelrod in the Background section, is linked to the politician of that name, not to the musician. I just thought I'd let you know. Take care![reply]

Congrats

... on the Main Page appearance. The Spoken WP template at the bottom of the article looks funny to me, though. ---Another Believer (Talk) 05:00, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree it does, but I posted it per the instructions for posting spoken word articles. --Pilot Dawg (talk) 15:24, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
