This berry is a common food source in Jamaica, 'susumba' is picked when they are green and sauted in a little oil or butter with onions and garlic, thyme, black pepper and a little salt. It is usually served as a side dish with ackee & salt fish. The taste is very irony and bitter, but strangely delicious.
