[edit]I don't have time to work on this right now, but in brief: the article in its current state fails to explain the chronology and development of socialism in Ceylon/Sri Lanka. Socialist ideas had a profound impact on modern Sri Lankan politics, including being constitutionally enshrined. A better layout would be: 1) Early phase of establishment of socialist movement in Ceylon (Europeans, Ceylonese returning from abroad, influences from India etc.), 2) emergence of SLFP populism and role of LSSP in labour movement, 3) Challenge of new left (JVP) and national question. --Soman (talk) 10:14, 1 January 2019 (UTC)
