Skyways at other amusement parks

[edit]

I've added a paragraph about skyways at other amusement parks, since there's no article about skyways as a type of amusement ride (just as a Disney amusement ride). If an article for that is created, then feel free to move this content over:

Several non-Disney amusement parks have had skyways similar to those at the Disney parks, including Paramount's Kings Dominion. Like the Disney parks' skyways, the skyway at Kings Dominion closed in the mid-1990s. One station was removed, and the other went unused for several years before being converted into a restaurant and a Scooby Doo-themed dark ride at the start of the 2004 season.

ADA Compliance Reference

[edit]

There needs to be specific information confirming this bit. While the rides weren't easily accessible, given that the DL and WDW Skyway's were installed prior to ADA, they would have been grandfathered in. Thus the statement that they were 'technically out of compliance' would not be a correct statement as it implies that the attractions fall under ADA. Since they aren't under ADA, they can't be out of compliance even if one a technical point. 1/11/2009 11:04 PM David H

Earthquake fears

[edit]

I've read that the Disneyland skyway along with the Eagle's Flight skyway at Six Flags Magic Mountain were both removed in 1994 following the Northridge Earthquake. If someone can find a reliable source stating this, I believe it should be added to the article Hunter103 07:18, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Breakage in factbox

[edit]

First factbox has some breakage where it mentions dimensions. Don't have the time to look up the correct input format, but someone else might. --81.225.76.189 00:14, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additional History

[edit]

When the Disneyland Skyway was ridden for the last time, the bucket contained some of the long-time skyway operators. One was Ernie Burns, an employee since 1970, the last part-time permanent status employee. A Disney representative ceremoniously presented him with the first nut and bolt removed from the ride. Ernie also had the red/green/yellow glass bezels from the control panel as well. Ernie Burns passed away 6/5/07. His son has those momentos. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.74.184.140 (talk) 08:19, 30 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Different photo

[edit]

Someone find a different photo of the skyway, also it would be nice to have a photo of the disney world version too. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.23.168.217 (talk) 18:13, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There aren't too many photos about which are suitable for licensing on Wikipedia. I did find these though.
Let me know if you want any of them uploaded at Wikipedia and put in the article. Themeparkgc  Talk  07:40, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The flickr website is blocked on my computer so just upload them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.130.137.166 (talk) 19:31, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've uploaded a couple. I feel the others aren't really too suitable. If anyone else feels like uploading them, please feel free. Themeparkgc  Talk  22:54, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and upload them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.130.187.220 (talk) 19:13, 23 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Replacement for the one in Disneyland

[edit]

Hi, I was wondering if we should have the fantasyland station should have its replacement be Star Wars Land. Since the building has been demolished for the new area. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Marth The Hero King (talkcontribs) 15:08, 7 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
