Updating this page so it is no longer a stub

[edit]

Hi, I’m Shaun and I work at Sirius Real Estate. I saw that the page is currently a stub so have drafted a more complete page incorporating some major updates and areas that are currently missing from the page. Happy to share my suggestions with an editor. Shoskins02 (talk) 11:08, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - It is always better to start with a few minor updates rather than a major update. Please feel free to make suggestions here and use the edit request template. Best wishes. Dormskirk (talk) 12:43, 12 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks – I’ve split out the areas and reasons for changes below. There’s quite a lot of information not included in the current page that I’ve added here. I have done some research, and this should look like other FTSE 250 pages.

  Unable to review
Your edit request could not be reviewed because the request is not formatted correctly.

  1. The citation style predominantly used by the Sirius Real Estate article appears to be Citation Style 1. The citation style used in the edit request consists of bare URL's.[a] Any requested edit of yours which may be implemented will need to resemble the current style already in use in the article – in this case, CS1. (See WP:CITEVAR.)
  2. Citation ref tags have not been placed within the requested text indicating which portions of the text the source is referencing. (See WP:INTEGRITY.)

In the collapsed section below titled Request edit examples, I have illustrated two: The first shows how the edit request was submitted; the second shows how requests should be submitted in the future.

Request edit examples
INCORRECT

https://www.journalsource.com
https://www.websource.com

In the example above there are three URL's provided with the claim statements, but these URL's have not been placed using Citation Style 1, which is the style predominantly used by the Sirius Real Estate article. Additionally, ref tags have not been placed within the text at the exact positions where the information they reference resides. Using the correct style and the correct positioning of the ref tags, the WikiFormatted text should resemble the following:

CORRECT

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,<ref>{{cite book|last1=Sjöblad|first1=Tristan|title=The Sun|url=http://www.booksource.com|publisher=Academic Press|date=2020|page=1}}</ref> while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.<ref>{{cite journal|last1=Harinath|first1=Prisha|title=Size of the Moon|journal=Science|issue=78|volume=51|url=http://www.journalsource.com|date=2020|page=46}}</ref> The Sun's temperature is 5,778 Kelvin.<ref>{{cite book|last1=Uemura|first1=Shu|title=The Sun's Heat|url=http://www.websource.com|publisher=Academic Press|date=2020|page=2}}</ref>

Which displays as:

The Sun's diameter is 864,337.3 miles,[1] while the Moon's diameter is 2,159 miles.[2] The Sun's temperature is 5,778 Kelvin.[3]

In the example above the references have been formatted according to Citation Style 1, which shows the author, the source's name, date, etc. Also, the ref tags are placed in the exact location where the text which they reference resides. As Wikipedia is a volunteer project, edit requests such yours are generally expected to have this formatting done before the request is submitted for review.

Kindly rewrite your edit request so that it aligns more with the second example shown in the collapsed section above, and feel free to re-submit that edit request at your earliest convenience. If you have any questions about this formatting please don't hesitate to ask myself or another editor. Regards,  Spintendo  00:37, 29 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Notes

  1. ^ The use of bare URLs as references is a style which is acceptable for use in Wikipedia. However, general practice dictates that the style already in use for an article be the one that is subsequently used for all future additions unless changed by editorial consensus.

Thank you, I’ve gone through and believe this should all be in CS1, and have placed more reftags throughout the text. Please could you let me know if these are now correct?

Thanks for reviewing and updating. On note 3 (BizSpace), BizSpace doesn't have its own Wikipedia page but it doesn't seem worth creating a separate page for it, given it's now part of Sirius. It's one of the most significant updates for the company in the past few years, is there a way this can be included in the page if BizSpace doesn't have its own Wiki page? BizSpace acquisition

[edit]

Hi, my name is Shaun, I’m an employee at Sirius Real Estate. I have previously worked with  Spintendo  and Dormskirk on keeping the article accurate with up-to-date notable information and would like to seek some advice on updating the article, revisiting the acquisition of Bizspace.

In 2021 the company acquired a new business, BizSpace Ltd, one of the most significant updates to the company in recent years. The deal was covered in highly-distributed and trustworthy media including The Times in the UK. Previously adding this has been discussed but a clear conclusion was not reached.

In the spirit of ensuring Wikipedia remains an accurate source of information, I wanted to work with the community to make this change. I have included a web link to coverage in The Times

https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/sirius-real-estate-makes-uk-move-with-380m-bizspace-deal-g50ms2gpl?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA75itBhA6EiwAkho9exFx2jFTQzZLRMZzBAm0_QsMenJoAElVg4q6UPnE7CZjRR4_750RbBoC-hcQAvD_BwE

I’d be grateful if an experienced editor could provide some further assistance in making this change and adding a short sentence to the article.

Thank you Shoskins02 13:44, 01 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
