History section
[edit]This article might be improved by adding some history to the history section. We recognize that for private concerns (companies), it is sometimes difficult to explain starts, re-organizations, mergers, and splits. Suggest additions of the "Child, Pratt & Co." where Simmons got his start in 1856, "Waters, Simmons & Co." which was succeeded by the "E.C. Simmons & Co." in 1872, with Mr. Isaac Wyman Morton as vice-president. This would also help explain the eponymous Morton-Simmons building. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.183.224.2 (talk) 20:45, 12 May 2017 (UTC)
