I jumped on the chair reading the passage "The simple narrative and naive egotism of Le mie prigioni has established his strongest claim to remembrance, winning fame by his misfortunes rather than by his genius" - that seemed quite harsh judgement. Then I looked up and it's the verbatim text of the 1911 Britannica.
As this appears to be the opinion of Hugh Chisholm, editor of that edition of the Britannica with no particular literary credentials, I removed the passage. If for some reason this scathing opinion were considered relevant, it should be presented as someone's opinion rather than a statement of fact as it seems to have been here. 46.249.236.186 (talk) 20:47, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
