Historical inquiry
[edit]Readers would be interested to learn why, at re-establishment of the first two chapters after WWII, the two chapters switched names. I know I'd like to know more. Jax MN (talk) 02:35, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
- I was doing well to even figure this had happened and to find dates. It was missed by Baird's. From what I can deduce, the sorority went defunct during WWII. Their history says "forced" to close which would be weird for teaching sorority, so I am guessing something ugly to do with Asians and the U.S. government (wish I knew that story) Only one of the two chapters (Beta) reestablished after the war in the 1940s, so it apparently took the Alpha name. No idea why the Beta name was held in reserve, but it was used when a chapter was reformed at the original campus more than 35 years later. So they reversed names, but not at the same time. If you think I can say more without it being guessing and/or original research, let me know. Rublamb (talk) 05:29, 4 January 2023 (UTC)
