To merge History of Sierra Leone (1961–1978) into both Sierra Leone (1961–1971) and Sierra Leone#One-party state and dawn of the 'Republic' (1968–1991); unwarranted split of history from main articles; reducing duplication. Klbrain (talk) 12:33, 6 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Having a distinct, and badly written (the lead is a confused mess), article about independent Sierra Leone in the years Queen Elizabeth remained the formal head of state is quite unjustified and useless.

it should be merged with the "Sierra Leone" article which btw contains the same information, but in more details, and better written.--Lubiesque (talk) 16:26, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Would it not be better to merge it with History of Sierra Leone (1961–1978)? DrKay (talk) 19:52, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I second that proposition. Snow Lion Fenian (talk) 14:50, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The history article should be merged into this article, not the other way around. Yeoutie (talk) 05:30, 12 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The history article is well-written, but also redundant. It also overlaps in scope with 4 sections in Sierra Leone#Independence and post-independence era. So, I support Yeoutie's position of merging to Sierra Leone (1961–1971) (so that we have a distinct article for the scope of the Dominion of Sierra Leone), then the post-republic content to Sierra Leone#One-party state and dawn of the 'Republic' (1968–1991).
