Notable Facts
Is the use of the opening riff by another band really notable? Did they do it on purpose? Because the opening riff of The Cramps "Can Your Pussy Do the Dog" sounds almost exactly the same, as well. Cavale (talk) 00:35, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Acid Punk?
I think the Genre should be re-classified. Altenhofen (talk) 16:56, 21 June 2008 (UTC)
Bass string out of Tune?
To me the G (played on the top E-string) seems to be mildly out of tune (slightly flat)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 159.134.94.21 (talk) 11:22, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
Cover Versions
Should there be a list of all the bands that covered it? I know I'm looking for this band whose name I Cannot Remember. They've covered this song too, and all their music videos featured two cartoon characters instead of the actual band members, but I can't remember any names. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.253.221.207 (talk) 22:05, 1 November 2009 (UTC)
The song is a 12-bar blues, Glory in it!
The reason this song sounds so tantalizingly familiar is that is it a 12-bar blues like thousands and thousands of other songs, including many hit parade favorites. Some contributors, none of them registered users, have taken to removing this fact from the article for dubious reasons, perhaps related to their confusing the idea that "blues is sad music by black guys from Mississippi" with the fact that blues employs what has come to be one of the most common popular music forms.
It is 4 bars of the I chord, 2 bars of the IV chord, 2 bars of the I chord, 2 bars of the V chord, 1 bar of I and then the drop back down to the V for the 1-bar turnaround. That's it. This guy demonstrates the whole thing, in French! How to play Should I stay or should I go
I think it is thrilling that when the Clash wanted to create a classic song, as stated in the article, they chose the form used by "St. Louis Blues", "Shake, Rattle and Roll", "I'm Movin' On", "Rock Around the Clock", from Lead Belly to Led Zeppelin, from Jimi Hendrix to Charlie Parker, Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Janis Joplin to Hank Williams. Go to | 12-bar blues What Links Here and drink in this glorious musical tradition that America gave to the world.
It is a magical chord progression that has a century-long tradition in popular music. I will keep changing it back and since I have blocking authority, I will block it too if I have to. I simply don't understand the impulse to remove significant factual information from an encyclopedia. Ortolan88 (talk) 17:56, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
Should I stay or should I go - is is a remake?
Hello - I could swear there was another song using the words "should I stay or should I go", back in the 60's. Am I crazy??? Maybe the Kinks, the Beau Brummels, or other? ----Trish — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.106.250.181 (talk) 02:03, 22 January 2012 (UTC)
Trish - yes, you're almost right = The theme & guitar riff seem very similar to "Let Me Know" by John's Children from the 1966 Orgasm LP — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ianb214 (talk • contribs) 22:13, 11 June 2016 (UTC)

title - question mark needed
Shouldn't this article title have a question mark in it? Should I Stay or Should I Go? redirects to the article, but the artwork of the album cover clearly shows the song has a question mark in the title. —МандичкаYO 😜 05:18, 17 July 2016 (UTC)
Stranger Things
Someone should add Stranger Things to the "In popular culture" section. This song has been used several times on that show. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Strupo (talk • contribs) 14:02, 5 August 2016 (UTC)

Working on newer draft of the article
The article needs more rework, so I created a newer draft: Draft:Should I Stay or Should I Go. I welcome those wanting to edit the draft there. --George Ho (talk) 01:12, 17 March 2020 (UTC)
