2012-2013 Season
[edit]Can't edit this page due to protected status, but the source from the "Kagawa says he's going to United" story is a fake twitter account claiming to be a reporter from "Osaka TV" (no such organization exists, and Kagawa has denied the rumors, saying he'll be deciding his future after May 12.) Excallqnjp (talk) 03:59, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Where's your source disproving the two references in the article? I.e., how do we know it's a fake Twitter? —C.Fred (talk) 04:07, 6 May 2012 (UTC)
- Given the persistent speculation about where he'll play next year, I have semi-protected the article (again), this time for two weeks. —C.Fred (talk) 02:05, 25 May 2012 (UTC)
So Man Utd official site is lying?

- Until he will sign a contract with ManUtd he is still a Dortmund player, if you read the article from ManUtd.com you will see he still need to pass the medical exam and get a work permit in the UK, it should be over until the end of June.

Transfer fee to Man UTD
[edit]Worth an intial £12m, the fee for the 23-year-old may rise to £17m... There are no other fees given in this article. Don't know why... 2.101.131.62 (talk) 07:49, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- The fee is undisclosed by Manchester United. We do not know the real fee for the transfer even if BBC and other sport websites write one. Therefor, no fee should be mentioned.

First Asian player to score hat-trick in the Premier League
[edit]The latest edit under the Manchester United heading states that Shinji is "first Asian player to score a hat-trick in the Premier League". This is not correct as Mark Viduka who is an Australian who are part of the Asian Football Confederation has scored two Premier League hat-tricks. Viduka netted 4 for Leeds against Liverpool in 2000 and 3 against Charlton Athletic in April 2003. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.253.114.52 (talk) 22:18, 2 March 2013 (UTC)
- Being Asian and being part of the Asian Football Confederation are two different things. Just like Israel isn't part of Europe just because they play in the Champions league — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.212.148.145 (talk) 14:40, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- And even if being part of the AFC meant you were Asian, Viduka scored those hat-tricks before Australia joined the AFC, so your comment is even more irrelevant. – PeeJay 22:53, 6 April 2014 (UTC)
- But he is right about not being the first one, as the Israeli player Benayoun scored a hat-trick four years before Kagawa. Unless people classify Asian to just people from East and South Asia than its just not a good sentence to understand.
– HonorTheKing (talk) 08:40, 7 April 2014 (UTC)- Good point. I guess it needs clarifying a little then. – PeeJay 12:05, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Style of Play
[edit]Although it's well-referenced, this section seems over-effusive. You'd think the article was about Lionel Messi! Nigelrg (talk) 17:56, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
