Article improvement efforts
[edit]Efforts are being made to add content to this article to get it improved enough to nominate for Good Article. Efforts to improve the article are nominally being based on the article about Lauren Jackson given the sheer amount of information available about female wheelchair basketball players when compared to other sports like goalball. Hence, the article could really use a good copy edit, maintaining as much information as possible for the short term until all the content is in to determine what belongs and does not. The goal is to nominate the article for Good Article by the end of September. In the mean time, the article has also been nominated for Did You Know. --LauraHale (talk) 10:49, 17 September 2012 (UTC)

Comments quick ones, many of which I've said before....
- Please see other similar reviews:
- En-dashes.
- AFAIK, they are all correct now. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- Starting paras with surname rather than She.
- Repetitive "she" in sentences (see Personal, five in a row...)
- REduced. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- WP:LEAD, four paras is too much for a short article.
- Reduced to two paragraphs. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- Captions (incomplete sentences don't need a full stop).
- This is already the case. The only stops are in the one on the guernsey, which is two complete sentences. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- En-dashes.
- "Gliders team mate Bridie Kean attended her graduation.[6]" trivial.
- Removed. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- What's the point of abbreviated DAS if you don't use it?
- Removed. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- "Women's Wheelchair basketball" or "Women's wheelchair basketball" (infobox).
- Corrected. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- "against Germany women's national wheelchair basketball team" do you mean "against Germany"?
- It's awkward, but for some reason is the way that Wikipedia names thing. Deleted sentence. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:03, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- Ref 6 looks odd.
- Corrected. An artifact of HTML Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:02, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- Ref 16 "Services — University of" should be an en-dash, not an em-dash.
I'll put it on hold for a few days, and I would also ask you to fix up the remaining GANs you've mass-nominated with these common problems. The Rambling Man (talk) 16:41, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- All points addressed. Hawkeye7 (talk) 23:03, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
Further
- I don't understand "Chaplin competed with the Gliders at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. In the gold medal game against Germany at the 2012 Summer Paralympics".
- Deleted second sentence. Hawkeye7 (talk) 21:50, 13 September 2013 (UTC)
- Why link Oz at the 2012 Paralympics second time round?
- Removed duplicated links with the link tool
- Stat table headings need en-dashes.
- Added ndashes
- Ref col shouldn't be sortable.
- Made table non-sortable
- FTM-A col doesn't sort correctly.
- Made table non-sortable
- Nor does FGM-A.
- Made table non-sortable
- Two seasons in that table appear to be grey, the other three not. Why?
- Made table non-sortable
