[edit]- 20/02/08 - The name of this article is wrong, the FCB2 is not a class of lifeboat it is an experimental boat, teh title should be :
FCB2 Experimental Lifeboat http://www.rnli.org.uk/what_we_do/lifeboats/current_lifeboats/in_development How do i amend it? JP (talk) 15:52, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Shannon class
[edit]- 16/04/11 - I was wondering if someone could move the page or rename to "Shannon class lifeboat" to reflect the change of the name by the RNLI (see ref 2)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.148.135.19 (talk)

Incorrect image and details on page
[edit]The image on this page currently shows FCB2, the prototype boat that preceeded the Shannon. Please can you update the image on this page to show Dungeness lifeboat station's Shannon class lifeboat, named The Morrell, which arrived at the station on 21 February 2014. Here's a link to the image: http://rnli.org/Pages/Photograph-Detail.aspx?MainImageUrl=/PhotoLibrary/DA0C5377.jpg
Also, some of the info in the 'Class Overview' box on the right side of the page is incorrect. The Shannon costs £2 million to produce, not £1.5 million. Also, it came into service in Summer 2013 when the 'Jock and Annie Slater' Shannon joined the RNLI's Relief Fleet, not Spring 2013.
Please can the details re the boat's top speed be amended, it has a top speed of 25 knots - not 27. [1]
Finally, some of the content in the table under the headline 'Fleet' is incorrect. The boat numbers from ON1314 downwards are incorrect. Please could the ON number, Op no, Name and In service details be removed from ON1314 downwards. The stations listed are correct, as they have been confirmed to be receiving a Shannon class lifeboat, but the arrival dates, names and numbers of these boats have not been confirmed yet as these details are likely to change.
For info, I'm a Public Relations Officer at the RNLI and have been working on the PR for the Shannon's arrival at Dungeness lifeboat station. A colleague forwarded me a link to this page and suggested I contact you to see if the above amendments could be made so that the info about the Shannon is accurate and correct.
