I've added the word UNIX to the list of supported operating systems. Linux is not UNIX, despite what some think, so I've left Linux there. Drkirkby 07:07, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Forks

[edit]

I don't feel it was correct to say that the development of Scid continued in Scid-pgn, and that ChessDB was a fork of Scid. They are both sofware forks. Changes to the Scid website details and date of last release have been reversed, as the most recent offical release of Scid was not in 2007 as changed to by Pgeorges, but in 2003. Also 'Pgeorges' decided to add what I believe is his own website above the one for ChessDB, which was there before. I'll make no comment about what is the better fork of Scid, but neither is any more 'offical' than the other. Both are developed independantly of Scid's original author (Shane Hudson). I've left the original Scid webite in its rightful place - at the top. Spiderpop 09:24, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spiderpop, Drkirkby took control of Scid's site at sourceforge. So Pascal Georges decided to create his own site. Bstp (talk) 14:48, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bstp, I suggest you should check your facts. Myself, Dr. David Kirkby, who is 'drkirkby' on both here and Sourceforge, NEVER requested to take control of Scid's web site at Sourceforge. It was Pascal Georges who requested to take control of the Scid web site, but it was initally denied to him. He did later get control. I myself set up ChessDB at sourceforge, and Pascal took code I developed, and set up the scid-pg web site. So to say I took control of the Scid web site is just pure nonsense. 213.78.42.15 (talk) 23:50, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The link for the video usage guide 404s. I'm not active in wiki editing. Perhaps someone who knows how best to handle that can. 135.180.40.77 (talk) 21:27, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
