On removal of "spoilers"

[edit]

Everyone who keeps removing information like this needs to read Wikipedia:Spoiler. Specifically:

Wikipedia articles may include spoilers and no spoiler warnings.
It is not acceptable to delete information from an article because you think it spoils the plot.

That's fair. But I think we can offer some discretion here to our readers. The characters section is very brief and to-the-point, so adding last minute "reveals" to them feels tacky. The information is of course in the plot summaries. Just a thought. Drovethrughosts (talk) 13:25, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. But I got the page semi-protected for a few days based on the edit warring over this. Funcrunch (talk) 17:10, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would guess you could remove such edits if they are poorly written and unencyclopedic, which would bypass the WP:SPOILER thing. This would be valid because poorly written edits which add nothing to the page can be removed or improved. 2A00:23C8:5228:1601:8A0:9D6C:3C3:AF88 (talk) 18:15, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I was part of the spoiler debate years ago and I thought it had been decided major character spoilers would not be revealed in the cast section. I specifically talked about female characters and if they married in the series. But I think it can and should apply here also. Having a 'character reveal' in the cast section is awful. Unwarranted. It makes me upset that still, we are having this problem. Why does a huge spoiler need to be RIGHT THERE? Here, especially. Helly's other name certainly SHOULD NOT be revealed in the cast section nor Cobel's. Her reveal is the big OMG moment of episode one... why ruin it? That's what I just don't get. It's the cast section. A reader should be free to come across the start of an article without huge spoilers. Wikipedia really needs to get a handle on this. The internet sometimes culls info from wikipedia and a person can be spoiled unintentionally. I think it's safe to say if enough people are editing out information, there may be a reason why.Daleylife (talk) 08:33, 11 April 2022 (UTC).[reply]

I can understand for Helly, at least until the second season airs. But Cobel's identity is revealed in the very first episode, so I don't think it's unreasonable to list both names in the cast section. Regardless, I take your point. Funcrunch (talk) 13:33, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I am elated you agree at least for Helly. I'll take it. Thank you. Daleylife (talk) 20:34, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In no way should any change be made to writing to “protect” people that deliberately go to an encyclopaedia article about any subject and don’t want spoilers. That’s ridiculous.

Want to know more about the actor? Google the actor, read the wiki page on the actor, don’t read an article about the character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.61.233.178 (talk) 23:04, 19 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. It may not have anything to do with the plot. Wouldnt it be funny if we linked the insurrection? No harm done. The reader learns of a historical coincidence that happened when production started. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jkdrako (talkcontribs) 03:23, 17 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Page squished into middle of screen with 50% of sides unused.

[edit]

The text on this page is all bunched together in a narrow colmun, in the middle of the window. There's tons of white space on either side. 2601:189:8202:14C0:1017:CE05:5CA9:6A5B (talk) 06:40, 24 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey - nothing on this yet, i'd love to write it up, but not sure which section to put it in. Let me know for any ideas. https://books.apple.com/us/book/severance/id1613220757 Ezeva (talk) 14:30, 21 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
