Stub
[edit]Shouldn't this be a stub or something? The page lacks detail and doesn't even seem Wiki-worthy at the first place... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.88.47.117 (talk) 21:42, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
Promotional language
[edit]I just read through this biography again, and I am seeing a lot of promotional language that is not attributed to a source. For example, "an internationally acclaimed US-based Turkish artist", "recognized as the best young artist in Turkey", "his fresh approach", "caused his talent to be recognized at an early age", and a few more. It is ok to include quotes of material like this if they are attributed to their source, and appear in a reliable, secondary publication, but as it is the article falls foul of our neutral point of view policy and our policy that Wikipedia is not to be used for promotion. Interested parties may also wish to have a look at the page on words to watch, which is highly applicable to this article. I might have a go at rewriting this tomorrow, but I wanted to post here first to give the original author a chance to remove the promotional language, lest they object to me rewriting the entire thing with no warning. I'm willing to further explain Wikipedia policies and how they apply here, if that is necessary. Best — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 12:04, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
- Just to make it clear, in Wikipedia we can't say "he is an internationally acclaimed artist", no matter how many citations follow the remark. We could say something like "his work was praised as 'outstanding' by an international panel of judges at X award ceremony" - if that was supported by the sources that we cited. The difference between the first version and the second version is that the first version is an opinion, and the second version is a fact. We can only include facts in Wikipedia. For more details on this, I strongly suggest reading WP:ATTRIBUTEPOV. — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 15:38, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
Clarification of BFA
[edit]The article currently talks about "his studies at State University of New York where he gained a BFA", but what is a BFA? It is not obvious to me. — Mr. Stradivarius ♫ 12:17, 14 May 2012 (UTC)
