New section: Sobriquets

[edit]

I noticed a trend in modern Serbian history and have added an entirely new section to the article: Sobriquets. All the sources on the origins of the sobriquets listed can be found in the individuals' own Wikipedia articles, I just wanted to collect all the info in one place as the sobriquet seems a relevant and genuine facet of the history of Serbian naming customs. Side note: I also included a picture in the section of one of the figures listed, as the picture had a direct link to his sobriquet. Hst0r10graphy (talk) 17:18, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Citation and elaboration on women changing surname after marriage

[edit]

Anecdotally, with the note that my experience is limited to Belgrade and even there limited in scope, it's more common for women to keep both surnames than to change their surname outright. This was especially true during the communist period and as far as I'm aware continues to be true in the general sense, though it is more common now than during that period for women to take their husband's surname. I've been unable to find reliable sources confirming in either direction however in either English or Serbian, so I'm leaving the statement as is and marking citation needed.
