I tried to add the name of the group which the org is a part of- The Gorta Group- to the box on the top right of the page but it is not registering. Can anyone else who knows how to do it do so? Ten African countries
[edit]When this article says that "The organization works with rural communities in ten African countries" it could then list the ten African countries. Vorbee (talk) 17:58, 6 June 2018 (UTC)
UDP
[edit]I added an {{undisclosed paid}} tag to this article a while back and came across it again: To clarify, it was added because of involvement by the VentureKit sockfarm (JP Miller1 (talk · contribs)), but there are substantial other issues as well; the article is extremely promotional and reads like it was taken straight from the organisations press kit. It will need a thorough review and likely a complete overhaul before the tag is removed. Thanks and best, Blablubbs|talk 19:16, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Merger discussion
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- the result of the discussion was merge. Pinging @SeoR:, @Guliolopez: and @CherriGasoline: and listing at Wikipedia:Proposed article mergers/Holding cell until the merge is completed. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 13:23, 10 July 2022 (UTC)
When SeoR tagged the Gorta and Self Help Africa for a proposed merge, the rationale given was "Time to merge this - Gorta and SHA merged in 2014, in fact, and The Gorta Group trades for >2 years only as Self Help Africa" and "While still legally The Gorta Group, this is the organisation's common name since 2014 (most places) / 2018 (Ireland), so I think it's time to merge the articles, with sections for the components' histories". Personally I:
- Support the merge proposal and rationale. The two articles cover (effectively) the same subject. And at least two ("duplicate"/"overlap") and likely three ("context") of the four WP:MERGEREASONs are met. If/when a merge is completed, some of the more overtly promotional content would ideally be reviewed/addressed in that process. Happy to help. If there is consensus for such a change. Guliolopez (talk) 10:06, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
- Bump/ping. Hi @SeoR:. It's been a month or more since you tagged these articles for merge. I'm happy to assist as needed. But, absent other thoughts or objections, it seems likely that the content from Gorta should be merged into the "history" section of Self Help Africa. And the Gorta title redirected to the top. Guliolopez (talk) 16:15, 2 August 2021 (UTC)
- Bump/ping. This page has several issues and would best work with a merger. CherriGasoline (talk) 10:06, 24 April 2022 (UTC)
