Untitled
[edit]At the point in the article where I have placed the Inappropriate Tone banner, the article shifts from a general accounting of Seka's life to a specific accounting of dialog purportedly uttered during a specific television show. This reads like gossip column material, not like an encyclopedia article. Source citations are required to verify the content of these quotations. In addition, the writer descends to "guessing" what was going on in the minds of the speakers, which is subjective POV and also requires verification or removal. Some general cleanup is also needed.
The paragraph following that duplicates information presented earlier in the article, and provides additional information that would be better placed at the beginning of the article. It also includes partial quotes that require source citations for verification, and the (probably unverifiable) opinions of the writer.
In sum, the article shifts from being objective and encyclopedic to being a subjective conglomeration of hearsay, and requires citations and cleanup. Canonblack 12:07, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
General Information (Introduction)
[edit]In his book The X-rated Videotape Guide, author Robert Rimmer (The Harrad Experiment), who actually associated with many people in the adult film industry, gives Seka's real name as Dorothy Hundley Patton. Dick Kimball (talk) 19:00, 8 October 2009 (UTC) In a 2012 inverview by the investigative website Vice.com Seka was asked about her name: VICE: Dorothea Hundley Patton, that's quite a handle. Seka: Dorothea Hundley was my maiden name.[1] According to Seka's IMDb biography the first of her two marriages was to Frank Patton, from 1972 to 1973. [2]
In Rise to Porn Fame
[edit]Removed the first clause of the first sentence of the second paragraph, Back on her feet, as it had no context to the previous text. Javafreek 21:29, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
Saturday Night Live Appearance
[edit]November 15, 1986 with Lou Reed as musical guest. She also appears at the very end during the "group hug" while the credits rolled (Sam Kinison introduced her).
Return to active status
[edit]Per this interview, she has begun doing live work again, not just modeling. This should be reflected in the article somehow, but I don't know the standards. 64.126.24.12 16:16, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
Request for freely-licensed image
[edit]Just a note for anyone who might have the same idea - I contacted the article subject to request a freely-licensed publicity photo. She replied and stated that she desires to retain copyright of her images and will not release one under a free license. Videmus Omnia Talk 17:06, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- Perhaps one of the companies that still sells her videos, presumably now on DVD, would control an image and wouldn't mind the free publicity of it appearing in Wikipedia. Remember that the vast majority of photographs of Seka would have been taken by the still photographer on the sets of her movies, who worked for the producer rather than the star. Presumably a few of these would have been mild enough to be acceptable to the Wiki editors. Dick Kimball (talk) 19:12, 8 October 2009 (UTC)

Kevin Yontz - husband, boyfriend?
[edit]the vice interview reads as follows:
I was in high school. I got married a week after I turned 18; I wanted out of the house. I guess I was in love with the guy, but I had just turned 18 for God's sake.
I was divorced and I didn't like what I was doing. I was at Reynold's Aluminum, standing on my feet all night in a hot metal building pulling a production line. So I applied for a job as a clerk and started dating the owner. Most people think that we were married, but we were never married. He likes to think he was married to me but he wasn't. As a matter of fact, he was already married when I met him, which I didn't know at the time.
the iafd database lists Ken Yontz as ex-husband of Seka

A google book search with seka and yontz as search terms gives the following result:

In this video of probably 1987 she claims she owned 10 adult book stores when she was 23.
boobpedia-Seka: husband of first marriage Mr. "Patton"
- husband Frank Patton 1972 - 1973
- husband Ken Yontz 1978 - 1980
she dated Ken and became his business partner and shop license holder.
Soon after her divorce Dorothea started dating Ken Yontz. “He owned the adult bookstore across from the massage parlour; after I met him, we had dinner a few times. He was pretty nice. He bought me presents - including my little poodle Yvonne that I had for eighteen years. We ended up moving in together and before you could say 'Linda Lovelace', we owned seven adult bookstores together."
Dorothea and Ken were both involved in buying and selling products for their bookshops. "Then the heat started coming down on the stores - they were busting people left and right. My name was on the licenses and I didn't want to go to jail! I hightailed it to Las Vegas. I had to run to Vegas to get away from everything because I freaked out!"
Conclusions/Questions
Seka became co-owner of several (10?) adult book shops.
There are two husbands the first, the "real" husband Mr. Patton,
the "second" husband, business partner, boyfriend and co-actor in several adult movies Ken Yontz
Seka dated Ken after her divorce 1973 and married him after the beginning of her adult career 1978.
Quessler (talk) 04:49, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Quessler. As I've just noted on your talk page, I compliment you on a number of good, sharp-eyed edits on this article. If I may, I'd like to offer a couple of tips. First, you can sign your talk-page posts automatically by typing four tildes (the ~ sign). Second, Wikipedia disallows wikia and other sites of user-generated content, including IMDb, to be used as reference citations — IMDb biographies are often filled with inaccuracies. Otherwise, your care and wide-ranging research is wonderful to see. Welcome aboard! --Tenebrae (talk) 16:57, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
Owner of ‘adult’ book shops
[edit]How did she go from dating the owner of one, to owning seven in a few years? More info needed. There is a pervasive story that she was just a front for the Mob to launder money, and they built the chain. Nothing here to confirm or disprove. Is there anything in her book? 2A00:23C7:E287:1901:5597:5F25:DD6C:659B (talk) 11:47, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
