I have added a tag, proposing that Aaron ha-Levi of Barcelona be merged to here.
A merge was previously proposed with Aharon HaLevi. This seems inappropriate, as the Aaron ha-Levi of Barcelona article is primarily about the Sefer ha-Chinuch, and the view both in 1906 and today is that the Chinuch was not the work of Aharon HaLevi (aka Aaron ben Joseph ha-Levi).
The editors of the 1906 JE therefore created the ha-Levi of Barcelona article for the true author of the Chinuch, presumed to be a different Aaron ha-Levi.
However, at least one strand of present-day scholarship research identifies the true author as the brother of Aharon HaLevi, Pinchas ben Joseph ha-Levi -- so not named Aaron at all.
So it seems to me that the best place (if any) for the content of the Aaron ha-Levi of Barcelona article would be here under Sefer ha-Chinuch, which the content definitely relates to, rather than under what may well not have been the author's name at all. Jheald (talk) 19:53, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
- Oppose because it's a bad idea since the article itself states that there is some question over the authorship of this work, see Sefer ha-Chinuch#Authorship. - Oppose There are some cases where the author and his work have become so inextricably linked that it makes sense to merge the two, especially where the work is the author's signature achievement. However, in this case, where the merge proposal makes clear that authorship is ambiguous, combining the two articles would be inappropriate; The claimed authors stand on their own and the work stands on its own, with an appropriate discussion of authorship included linking to the various articles of the claimed authors. - Support Apart from his authorship of the Chinnuch, nothing is known about this person. The subject doesn't merit its own article and all its content is about the Chinnuch. There is already an ample article on the very notable Aharon HaLevi. I have typed up the 613 Mitzvot of the Sefer Ha-Hinuch in English from the Feldheim version. There is no online English listing of the mitzvot of the Sefer Ha-Hinuch and I think this article could possibly be a great place for it. Here is the list as typed up from the Feldheim translation:

Sefaria recently undertook a translation of Sefer Ha-Chinuch into English, and the resulting translation is released with a CC-BY license. They also have the full Hebrew text, in parallel.
I believe that a link to this would fall under section 2 of WP:ELYES.
I have a COI (I work for Sefaria), and have discussed it on WikiProject:Judaism. Similar requests have been approved, and it seems there's consensus on this.
Link should probably be to Sefer ha-Chinuch - English translation and original Hebrew.
