The result of the move request was: no consensus. Reasonable guideline-based arguments on either side, votes roughly split. Jenks24 (talk) 08:06, 13 October 2015 (UTC)
Seeing → Seeing (disambiguation) – Redirect Seeing to Visual perception per WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT. Steel1943 (talk) 20:58, 17 September 2015 (UTC) Relisted. Jenks24 (talk) 15:54, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- Support per nom - Clearly the primary topic/redirect here. –Davey2010Talk 01:52, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. I don't know that Visual perception is any likelier a target than anything else on the disambiguation page. Evidence? Dohn joe (talk) 13:54, 18 September 2015 (UTC)
- Support per clear superior historical importance relative to all other uses of the term. bd2412 T 14:11, 21 September 2015 (UTC)
- Weak oppose: "Seeing" doesn't seem a very likely search term for Visual perception, compared to Sight (which redirect to Visual perception) or Vision (which is a dab page). PamD 13:21, 22 September 2015 (UTC)
- The current situation as presented above is partially why I believe that Seeing best serves our readers redirecting to Visual perception: Sight also targets Visual perception, and even just considering targeting Seeing to Vision is inappropriate since Vision is a disambiguation page. - Support per nom. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC by both common usage and long term significance. It's not really possible to determine which page is most viewed by readers who speficially come to the dab, but in terms of prominence of the actual contenders for the title, the visual perception topic has been viewed 84,915 times in the last 90 days, while Astronomical seeing has only been viewed 8,145 times, the novel 2,488 times, and the composition 134 times. Thanks — Amakuru (talk) 10:51, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- User:Amakuru: there actually is an easy way to determine where people go from a dab page. You create special redirects that only exist on the dab page to whichever target pages you're interested in. Then you wait a few days, and look at the pageview stats. I'd be happy to set them up if anyone's interested. Dohn joe (talk) 16:59, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and WP:NOTDICT. No evidence is presented in the nomination that visual perception is the primary topic. "Seeing" is also what seers do. — AjaxSmack 01:00, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
