map
[edit]I've just noticed that the map is nominated for deletion - bugger! If anyone knows the source, please let me know so I can justify it under the 1923 rule. ThanksKeith-264 (talk) 10:40, 11 December 2013 (UTC)
- Added narrative gleaned from an old source (the only one in English I could find) which is rather vague on geography and will add material for the German section later.Keith-264 (talk) 19:11, 15 December 2013 (UTC)
- Managed to glean some details from Krause 2013 as the introduction is downloadable from http://www.ashgate.com/pdf/SamplePages/Early-Trench-Tactics-in-the-French-Army-Intro.pdf Keith-264 (talk) 09:54, 19 December 2013 (UTC)
Clean up
[edit]Managed to inadvertently superimpose a re-edit of the Battle section onto the official page instead of the sandbox. Have managed to untangle them but may have more to do, fresh eyes would help. Thanks.Keith-264 (talk) 08:06, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
- Also managed to delete a big chunk of the official page in a worse outbreak of incompetence but was able to undo that. Keith-264 (talk) 10:36, 23 February 2014 (UTC)
- Abbreviated the headersKeith-264 (talk) 14:09, 10 July 2014 (UTC)
- Finished the rewrite of the German side using the GOH and have to integrate details from the previous material, then it's done.Keith-264 (talk) 12:35, 18 July 2014 (UTC)
Italics
[edit]Italics are used inconsistently for "the Labyrinth"; I don't know the convention well enough to correct, but might be worth a quick consistency pass on this.

- I can't remember or if it's The or the either.Keith-264 (talk) 19:37, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Labyrynth
[edit]- "The 11th Division was bogged down in Neuville and the Labyrynth."
Is the spelling Labyrynth or Labyrinth? Sun Creator(talk) 14:32, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
- Krause used the French term so I've copied it in. Regards Keith-264 (talk) 14:54, 7 November 2019 (UTC)
Sources for French Advance
[edit]@Keith-264: Hey. I had a chance to look at your earlier edits regarding French advances. From what I can tell, there isn't any documentation for the total amount of territory gained by the French during the Second Battle of Artois. Assuming that the citations you're referring to are given for incremental French advances which ultimately add up to the whole, would you mind listing these reference on this thread? Thanks. - Greetings, I thought that moving "A considerable tactical advantage had been gained by the French, who had regained 6 sq mi (16 km2) of ground before the offensive was terminated.[107]" up from a lower paragraph to the first para of the Analysis after your first edits did the trick. A second look led me to change my mind and amend the para until i can find the original wording. Keith-264 (talk) 22:49, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
- Did some chopping and changing to that para, trying to combine concision and BritEng. Regards Keith-264 (talk) 09:59, 6 June 2020 (UTC)
