Use in medium ponds
[edit]I was wondering whether DWSC is also possible with medium ponds (eg of 2m-3m depth). Aldough the temperature will be higher than 3-6°C, perhaps it would still be enough to circulate it inside a dwelling to cool it. It should be looked into the possibility of covering the pond with surface plants or sheeting to reduce solar radiation and thus warming. Another possibility is a subterranean water tank. Please look into it and add to article

Deep water source cooling → Deep water air cooling — Deep water air cooling is a much more correct term as it is air which is cooled (trough water). The Air cooling article states this (from Merriam Webster dictionary) —Preceding unsigned comment added by KVDP (talk • contribs) 09:50, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
- Merge to Geothermal heat pump which already covers this topic. The main issue is the technology. It is less important where the source for the temperature exchange is located. If kept it probably should be at the more common name from the existing article of water-source heat pumps. Vegaswikian (talk) 20:49, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

- Trainwreck. This vote has approved the move, but the discussion at Talk:Geothermal heat pump#Suggested merge has rejected the move. Can we talk about this instead of just voting? Wikipedia is not a democracy.--Yannick (talk) 11:52, 24 November 2009 (UTC)
Merge from Deep lake water cooling
[edit]In August 2009, User:KVDP had proposed that Deep lake water cooling to be merged into this article. Rehman(+) 09:03, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
- Support: This article is small enough to support a full merge. Rehman(+) 09:03, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
- Support One article can easily accommodate freshwater and seawater sources.--Shawn in Montreal (talk) 19:34, 18 November 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose -- bad idea, any topic worthy of a wikilink is worthy of a separate article. Clicking on a wikilink is easier than scrolling around within a larger omnibus article. In addition excessive merging also fundamentally undermines the power of a wiki as it erodes the usefulness of watchlists and the utility of the "what links here" button. Geo Swan (talk) 13:45, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- Support - we ought to talk about one topic under one article title. I've merged the two parts and redirected the other title here. --Wtshymanski (talk) 20:37, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Removed image
[edit]I've removed File:DeepWaterSourceCooling.svg from the article. Deep-water cooling uses naturally-cold water from the lower regions of a large body of water as the heat sink; the image appears to depict using a buried container as a low-efficiency radiator instead. --Carnildo (talk) 00:10, 8 May 2013 (UTC)
