WTF?
[edit]You restored Mr. Fox on this article :-( --75.137.127.26 (talk) 01:39, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
- Mr. Fox is released by 20th Century Fox, not Fox Searchlight Pictures. I removed it from the 2009 section. --TimonandPumbaaFan (talk) 09:43, 3 November 2009 (UTC)
1st link in References section
[edit]1st link in References section is no longer valid. It refers to a page on Yahoo and is missing. Please remove. --Hackster78 (talk) 06:08, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Distribution and mission
[edit]- More context on what Fox Searchlight is known for in the industry would be valuable. For example Slumdog and Crazy Heart were "discovered" out of obscurity, and distributed into Oscar fame. Is that what Searchlight specializes in/is known for/prides itself in? What is this process? I don't know the answers but some industry sources (such as interviews or focus pieces) with text should exist out there that explain what make Searchlight special. Currently, all this article has on this process is the single word "distribution" in the first sentence: "...and is variously involved with the production and/or distribution of these films", and that misses the point of some of Searchlight's biggest Oscar successes. Request more info.--Santaduck (talk) 17:01, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
Fox Corporation
[edit]Why do you not add Fox Corporation? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 177.122.211.109 (talk) 00:02, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
- Because they don't own Fox Searchlight? Trivialist (talk) 01:22, 28 March 2019 (UTC)
Rename
[edit]A Disney spokesman confirmed that "Searchlight Pictures" is now the official name according to this. So, unless there are any objections, the article should be moved as well.Starforce13 21:08, 17 January 2020 (UTC)
- Since its rename, maybe it's best we move all the films in the Fox Searchlight Pictures films category to the Searchlight Pictures films category to follow. XSMan2016 (talk) 13:33, 11 February 2020 (UTC)

Orphaned references in Searchlight Pictures
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Searchlight Pictures's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "Approval":
- From 20th Century Studios: Williams, Trey (July 27, 2018). "Fox and Disney Shareholders Vote to Approve $71.3 Billion Merger". The Wrap. Retrieved July 27, 2018.
- From Big Ten Network: "21st Century Fox And Disney Stockholders Approve Acquisition By Disney". The Walt Disney Company. July 27, 2018. Retrieved March 19, 2019.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 00:15, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
Is Searchlight a part of 20th Century Studios??
[edit]Is it just me, or does the president of Searchlight Pictures suddenly report to Steve Absell, president of 20th Century Studios? Because for some reason, Searchlight is listed as a sub-division of 20th Century, and I don’t know why…BiggieSMLZ (talk) 08:06, 22 April 2022 (UTC)
