Lewis Carroll

What on earth does this mean? Grammatically and in context, it can only mean that some unnamed person has used screen memories involving Carroll as a source for their own artistic creation. If this is what is meant, then details are needed. I get the feeling that what is intended is that Carroll himself used screen memories as a source for artistic creation, but by its structure, the sentence as it stands cannot possibly mean that.
