Its a duet!
[edit]Its a duet between this band and Christina, so this song should be moved in Xtinas discography page to her main singles, not featured singles, cause its a duet.
- And she does what? Stick to facts, please. This is WP!

Critical reception
[edit]I question the notion that the song "received universal acclaim from music critics." It currently has a score of 2.89 out of 10 on The Singles Jukebox. 69.138.110.253 (talk) 13:01, 6 March 2014 (UTC)Adam

Requested move 31 March 2016
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the move request was: Moved. Not a completely straightforward close, but there are more supports than opposes, and supports have used page views and search hits to make the case, while opposes don't really give us a good reason as to why this is not the primary topic, other than that it is WP:RECENT. You'd have to really tell us which other "Say Something" articles are likely to be searched for that make this one non-primary, even if its recentness does increase its page views somewhat. — Amakuru (talk) 11:21, 3 May 2016 (UTC)
- Say Something (A Great Big World song) → Say Something
- Say Something → Say Something (disambiguation)
– Clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC among songs and albums named "Say Something" or "Say Somethin", per page view statistics and search results. SSTflyer 08:14, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Support. 94% of pageviews is pretty impressive, and nothing else competes on significance. Dohn joe (talk) 14:14, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose – A 2013 song should not be granted a primarytopic grab based on current popularity. Dicklyon (talk) 06:21, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
Malplaced templateUser talk:SSTflyer has been repeatedly asked not to place templates on preferred article among articles on a dab page. This predjudics the results of a survey to those who have the article on their watchlist. Or to the alerts for a specific project. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:20, 1 April 2016 (UTC)- I've seen you raise this before and I don't even get it. Where is it supposed to go? Nohomersryan (talk) 12:02, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Placing the template on any page would prejudice to users who have that page on their watchlists, and to the alerts for projects tagged on that page. I ignored your requests because you have not provided any rationale other than WP:IDLI. SSTflyer 15:48, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- @Nohomersryan: Hi. The current baseline is Say Something so (a) if someone wants to move Say Something it should be on Talk:Say Something not pick one of the articles. Arguably any discussion should always be on the dab page as the most neutral, but certainly in a case like this. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:08, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Doesn't the bot note the move discussion on the DAB? Seems like it would reach the same scope Nohomersryan (talk) 20:47, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

- Also, oppose no evidence except pageviews has been advanced and that will always produce a WP:RECENT result. If pageviews were all that counted we wouldn't have WP:DISAMBIGUATION or WP:Naming conventions music we'd simply automatically adjust by page views for the top of the pops slot without the shame of having (artist name song) indicated. WP:PRIMARYTOPIC was designed to help readers in cases like Hurricane (which is a redirect) not for picking one song or album from many to be (artist-less). In ictu oculi (talk) 08:20, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC which advocates agreement to have a primary topic. The song that any reader is looking for is their primary topic. They do not check which one has the pageviews and for editors to suggest which song they are looking for is farcical. --Richhoncho (talk) 12:45, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- The song that most readers are looking for is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for most people, who should be able to reach the article the most conveniently. Your argument is in direct contravention of the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC guideline. SSTflyer 15:48, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
- How can anybody be “in direct contravention” of a guideline? Also, determining a Primary Topic reads, "There are no absolute rules for determining whether a primary topic exists and what it is; decisions are made by discussion among editors, often as a result of a requested move. Tools that may help…” I am happy that there is no benefit to having a primary topic in this instance. --Richhoncho (talk) 18:09, 1 April 2016 (UTC)

- Support per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The pageview evidence shows a vast majority of readers are looking for this article; best not to throw roadblocks in their way.--Cúchullain t/c 17:14, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- Support - primary topic is extremely clear. Unreal7 (talk) 00:47, 15 April 2016 (UTC)
- Support since this has been going on long, might as well toss in my two cents to help reach consensus. Definitely looks like the primary topic. 142.227.63.2 (talk) 16:54, 20 April 2016 (UTC)

Requested move 26 January 2018

– I think the move request two years ago needs to be reverted. I meant to request this for a while now, but upon the release of Justin Timberlake's new song of the same name, that urged me to make the request now. There are three other songs of the same name by Timbaland, Karen Harding, and now Justin Timberlake. Justin Timberlake is more of a popular artist than A Great Big World with this one-hit wonder, Timbaland has had chart success mostly in the late 2000s, and Karen Harding had a top 10 hit with her song in February 2015 (despite also being a one-hit wonder). So based on the status of the other artists, I do not find this song to be a primary topic. JE98 (talk) 01:55, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support. Multiple albums and songs with the same name. No primary topic, though I somewhat disagree with your assessment about "status". This song is arguably the most successful and known out of all of the songs, even if you regard them as a one-hit wonder. Melonkelon (talk) 03:06, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support and "I told you so" :P This really is a textbook case of why picking "top song" "top album" for artist-hiding is counterproductive. In ictu oculi (talk) 10:15, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- Support per nom. This is a common phrase, so it is doubtful that a reader will have the current target in mind when searching for it. bd2412 T 16:19, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

- Support Many songs have the same name as mentioned in the request, and I was rather confused when Say Something (A Great Big World song) did not appear when I searched for the song, as Say Something is very vague.
