Requested move 2 April 2015

The result of the proposal was moved as proposed. There's clear consensus for this much, though with over a month without discussion, I would have no problem with an immediate new RM for other titles. --BDD (talk) 18:53, 22 May 2015 (UTC)
Say "I love you". → Say "I love you" – A period (.) may be part of an official title, but I think it is unnecessary, especially when searching for this article. --Relisted. George Ho (talk) 05:53, 14 April 2015 (UTC) George Ho (talk) 07:09, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Agree - surprised it worked in any case - as WP:TITLESPECIALCHARACTERS says periods are restricted. - Arjayay (talk) 10:36, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Agree but better, move to Say I Love You (manga) per MOS:TM ping User:Arjayay In ictu oculi (talk) 11:08, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hi In ictu oculi - I don't mind the (manga) but the cover shot in the article clearly shows quotes around "I love you", but not You. I see you have added it to Say I Love You (disambiguation), but shouldn't it be in italics, like the current title? - Arjayay (talk) 11:22, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- User:Arjayay we don't generally punctuate song and book titles, Say It Ain't So, etc., I'm not sure we should do it for manga? In ictu oculi (talk) 11:42, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- In ictu oculi - WP:TITLEFORMAT actually says - "An exception is made when the quotation marks are part of a name or title (as in the movie "Crocodile" Dundee or the album "Heroes")."
I think "Crocodile" Dundee, with part of the title in quotes, is an exact parallel to this title - Arjayay (talk) 12:00, 2 April 2015 (UTC)- Talk:"Crocodile" Dundee hasn't been discussed. In ictu oculi (talk) 12:02, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- ¿Why would it need to be? and ¿what good would it do? when this is specifically covered in Wikipedia:Article titles which is a WP:Policy - Arjayay (talk) 12:23, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- There's probably less consensus about what goes into Wikipedia:Article titles than what goes into an RM. But beside that Crocodile Dundee is how the movie is referred to in books, and "Heroes" is a contested article title. In ictu oculi (talk) 07:38, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
- But until the policy is changed, it is still the policy, and we should stick to it. - Arjayay (talk) 07:49, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
- In any case it doesn't apply to this article, see book sources. In ictu oculi (talk) 08:02, 14 April 2015 (UTC)

- Support Not too many periods in Wikipedia titles that I've seen. Randy Kryn 14:52 2 April, 2015 (UTC)
- Support: Say "I love you" — retaining the common lettering and quotations per the exception outlined at WP:TSC. The quotation marks exception is a much larger issue and should be debated over at WT:AT rather than here. The context of the exception makes sense in my opinion. —KirtZMessage 14:57, 2 April 2015 (UTC)
- Support the removal of the period. Vlādis Mānisqā (talk) 06:13, 14 April 2015 (UTC).
- I don't think removal of the . alone is enough to distinguish this from Say I Love You (Eddy Grant song) Say I Love You (TV series). In ictu oculi (talk) 07:36, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
- Move to Say I Love You (manga) per WP:COMMONNAME as The New York Times and Amazon don't use the quotations. The period is unnecessary, and per WP:TITLEFORMAT & WP:MOSCT, titles of works should be in title case, not sentence case. --Rob Sinden (talk) 13:22, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
- Support, it seems that without the period seems to be far more common. Kharkiv07Talk 13:20, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
