Sausage
[edit]Saucisson is, in fact, the French word for sausage. I suggest that this page be changed to refer to that, seeing as the French have a varied sausage-making tradition.--81.206.214.43 (talk) 22:00, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Except that this is the English language Wikipedia, where we name articles in English. In English, saucisson is a military engineering term. If you want to write an article on French sausage making, (or rather, expand the Sausage#France section), that would be an excellent thing, but the appropriate article title would be something like French sausage or Sausage-making in France. (Don't forget to include boudin and rosette de Lyon.) -- 203.20.101.203 (talk) 23:32, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, and you're not quite right, anyway; the French word for sausage is saucisse. Saucisson is a particular type. -- 203.20.101.203 (talk) 23:39, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Bangalore torpedoes?
[edit]Does this term have any modern use with French sappers for what's also described as either a bangalore torpedo, or a MCLC like Giant Viper? Andy Dingley (talk) 10:04, 10 April 2013 (UTC)
