Santa Maria de la Antigua del Darien

[edit]

I lived in the region near the site of this historical city just South of the town of Acandi. I was managing a coconut plantation there in 1985 for over a year. I went at the time inland using the Atrato River and visited what I was told the site of Santa Maria Antiqua. The person who took me was an elderly gentleman who took me to a farm site where I was shown bricks that were supposedly from the ancient city. I would like to get in touch with anyone who has interest or knowledge of this city. Park Brady —Preceding unsigned comment added by Parkbrady (talkcontribs) 21:15, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Second paragraph

[edit]

The second paragraph - "Darién is a wild region in the extreme east of Panamá, bordering Colombia on the east, Kuna Yala (San Blas) on the north, the Pacific Ocean on the south, and the Province of Panama in the northwest. Darién was also the site of the Darién scheme, an unsuccessful attempt by the Kingdom of Scotland to become a world trading nation by establishing a colony called "Caledonia" on the Isthmus of Panama in the late 1690s." - does not seem really related to the subject, which is the town.

Agree. Removed. That material is covered at Darién Gap and Darien scheme. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 00:18, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
