Copyrights?
[edit]I just noticed that almost the entire page is copied from this page. Curious to know if this really is allowed. --85.225.25.168 20:33, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
- It is a copyright violation, and no, it is not allowed. See Wikipedia:Copyright problems for more information. I have deleted the offending section. Luigizanasi 02:39, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone know if there is somone from Sandvik whom is monitoring this page?
Thank you!
- - - - - - - - Of course it is allowed to copy content from the official site of Sandvik (www.sandvik.com) and use on Wikipedia. Could somebody who better understand the editing of copyright issues to describe how we e-a-s-i-l-y can open the Sandvik page on Wikipedia again?
Thank you.

Conflicts of interest?
[edit]All of the content on this page appears to come directly from Sandvik sources and not independent sources. That suggests that some of the editors here may have undisclosed conflicts of interest. I have informed User:Wikianki of our policies in this area. --Macrakis (talk) 13:58, 30 March 2021 (UTC)

- Industries
Revenues split by customer segment (2020): Mining 40%, Engineering 23%, Automotive 11%, Energy 10%, Construction 8%, Aerospace 5%, Other 3%.
- To provide a better understanding of the companies operations:

- Oppose: These customer segments are not defined or used in the article. Because these numbers change every year, I don't think they're necessary for the encyclopedic article (nice to have, yes). If someone wants to add them, we should edit the article's structure so that it "tells a consistent story". Ferkijel (talk) 07:56, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
Hi, As a Sandvik employee I updated some yearly figures and added some other factual information that I think is relevant. I understand now that I should not make any updates, just suggest changes. What needs to be done to remove the yellow alert box on the page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikianki (talk • contribs) 17:42, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for writing. Please sign your comments on the Talk page with --~~~~, which automatically adds your user name and a timestamp.
- We appreciate your honesty.
- That being said, the article is in very bad shape:
- There are multiple COI editors: You have been editing this page for over 9 years. There are other editors who only edit Sandvik-related pages -- a quick review of the edit history finds User:Alienlin, User:164.4.17.10, and User:151.225.16.13, but I am sure there are more. One editor, User:Phillvdm, even added a whole paragraph and mistakenly or dishonestly labeled it as a Help:Minor edit.
- The page has only two sources, both of them connected to the company.
- Much of the article reads like a corporate press release.
- In short, the article desperately needs attention from third-party editors.
- I see two alternatives:
- Remove essentially all the content from the article, including the alerts at the top, and start from scratch.
- Tag this article with alerts so that neutral, third-party editors will notice that it needs work.
- My preference is to tag, but other editors may find that the article is too "contaminated". --Macrakis (talk) 18:36, 1 April 2021 (UTC)
