[edit]I didn't pause to work the fact that he fathered Richard Herne Shepherd into the article, apologies. cygnis insignis 21:27, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- It has pointed out, on my talk page for some reason, that this is not the father of R H Shepherd linked above, but a man with the same name. In case its useful, I'll note that that Samuel Shepherd's own father was also called Richard Herne Shepherd. cygnis insignis 21:24, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- No, the father of this Samuel Shepherd was Henry Shepherd. Are you referencing an alternate line of Shepherds which went Samuel - Richard - Samuel or Richard - Samuel - Richard? It doesn't seem related to the subject of this article. And in relation to sofixit; yes, I am certainly obliged to fix an error in an article completely unrelated to my article which you noticed and decided to be true despite the fact that Samuel died two years before Richard was born. - Slow down mate. I glanced at it, I was wrong. Fixing that would be trivial. I didn't add it to this article. Yes, it is separate line, there was no article on them until I copy/pasted the dnb article to our document. I didn't try to establish whether RH Shepherd's father was notable, his grandfather probably is. Your tone is totally inappropriate in the circumstances, you're smugly trumpeting that you found a error on 'your' talk. So what!? cygnis insignis 21:46, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- No, you telling me "so fix it" on your talkpage was the inappropriate and patronising bit. Ironholds (talk) 22:04, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- Why? With less effort and noise you could have done just that, with a polite edit summary. As I said, posting there could only serve yourself, not the purpose of the site. cygnis insignis 22:21, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
- Because you told me to go fix it after you'd already fixed it, because I wasn't aware that the error was there (I thought you were simply querying me via personal research), and because I don't go and edit things because I'm told to edit them by the same user who tells me to "go fuck myself" in an edit summary. Um, hi, I was just wondering if he had ever married and had children? I haven't done much research really but I'd come across a portrait of him yesterday and wanted to know about him and the painter. If people are still reading this I'd be very intersted in whatever information there is available. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.99.2.108 (talk) 03:59, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
