Bass or bass-baritone?
[edit]This article describes Ramey as a bass-baritone (and he does sing bass-baritone roles) but isn't he fundamentally a bass? - Kleinzach 14:11, 7 May 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I think so. His website advertises him as a bass-baritone, but way I see it, some bass-baritones are low baritones (like Bryn Terfel), and some are high basses (like Ramey). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.152.189.93 (talk) 05:59, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
Discography required
[edit]... since he has made "an exceptionally large number of recordings". -- Jack of Oz [pleasantries] 08:38, 1 April 2014 (UTC)

second marriage
[edit]what can you find about his second marriage to "Carrie"? https://www.operanostalgia.be/html/Rameybook.html 100.15.117.34 (talk) 04:43, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
first marriage
[edit]what can you find about his first marriage to Elena? https://josmarlopes.wordpress.com/2012/08/11/samuel-ramey-getting-down-to-bass-baritone-basics/ 100.15.117.34 (talk) 04:44, 22 November 2023 (UTC)
- I found one New York times article where the only thing he commented about his first marriage is that "She was a lovely girl; [they] were just too young."(https://www.nytimes.com/1986/11/30/magazine/a-voice-like-a-lion-s-roar.html) Seems like the marriage was pretty brief. I also haven't found any reliable sources if her name was even Elena, or what her name was at all. Pkkakes (talk) 04:31, 3 January 2024 (UTC)
