Removal of introductory quote
[edit]I have removed the following quote from the beginning of the article (example):
"Many who knew him, can bear testimony to the kindness of his disposition, and the generosity of his nature."
— Sacket’s Harbor Observer, Memoirs of Dr. Samuel Guthrie, June 1, 1919
Its position at the very start of the article, before any actual biographical content about Guthrie, is unencyclopedic and unnecessary, and contrary to Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Lead section. Anyone seeking to re-add it should first establish consensus on this talk page before doing so. DanCherek (talk) 13:56, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- The format has been followed based on the following page: Charles West. The introductory quote allows a brief insight into the physician’s characteristics. 45.90.124.10 (talk) 14:25, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
- I removed the quote from West’s article earlier, but this article isn’t dictated by what that one looks like anyway (and West’s article is not a particularly well-written one). I strongly disagree that an introductory quote is needed here, per my original comment and the Manual of Style. DanCherek (talk) 17:30, 10 May 2022 (UTC)
