The different legal acts needed to enact SSM
[edit]The article has grown organically over time and contains valuable information I wouldn't want to delete. However, this has had as a result that it is not very clear what exactly had to be enacted (which is complicated enough):
1) what I call the main act, i.e. the text voted as a resolution by the Logting in 2016, but formally enacted as a Danish royal decree of 12 June 2017: [1]
2) a Danish act of parliament amending procedural legislation on divorce: [2]
3) a Danish ministerial decree on the same issue: [3]
4) an act that was a condition for the entry into force of the "main act" (no 1 above), as set out by the main act itself, i.e. legislation that would make sure the Faroese Church isn't obliged to give a church blessing to civilly married same-sex couples. It was first thought that this would have to be voted by the Danish parliament, but finally it was determined that it was a Faroese competence and the Logting voted it itself: [4]
I'm not sure how to introduce this in the article without losing other useful information and without being repetitive, but if anybody is inspired, they have the list above. Sigur (talk) 18:13, 7 August 2017 (UTC)
